A note from the founder

"I built LogLife because I was tired of habit trackers that felt like work. I wanted something that fit into my life, not another app demanding my attention. If you have feedback, ideas, or just want to chat, please reach out. This is a work in progress, and your input shapes where we go next."

Guides: Change Made Easier

A glossary of terms to help you think about habits, behavior change, and personal growth more clearly.

Addiction

A compulsive pattern of behavior that continues despite negative consequences. Often driven by dopamine loops that hijack natural reward systems.

Habit

An automatic behavior triggered by context. Habits form through repetition and become nearly effortless over time. The key to lasting change.

Trigger (Cue)

The signal that initiates a habit. Can be a time, place, emotion, person, or preceding action. Identifying triggers is the first step to changing behavior.

Craving

The motivational force behind every habit. Not the habit itself, but the change in state it promises. Understanding cravings helps reshape behavior.

Routine

The actual behavior or action you take. The routine is what you want to change, establish, or eliminate. It sits between the cue and the reward.

Reward

The benefit you gain from completing the habit. Rewards satisfy cravings and teach your brain which behaviors are worth remembering and repeating.

Friction

The effort required to perform a behavior. Reduce friction for good habits, increase it for bad ones. Small changes in friction create big differences.

Environment Design

Shaping your physical and digital surroundings to make good habits easier and bad habits harder. Your environment often matters more than willpower.

Keystone Habit

A habit that naturally triggers other positive behaviors. Exercise, for example, often leads to better eating, sleep, and productivity.

Streak

Consecutive days of completing a habit. Streaks provide visual proof of progress and momentum. But don't let a broken streak derail you—recovery matters more.

Pattern

Recurring behaviors or correlations in your logs. LogLife surfaces patterns automatically so you can see what's working and what needs attention.

Query

Asking your data questions in plain language. "How often did I meditate last month?" LogLife turns your logs into searchable insights.

Dopamine

A neurotransmitter that drives motivation and reward-seeking. Dopamine spikes predict rewards, not just deliver them. Understanding this helps build better habits.

Dopamine Poisoning

When constant high-dopamine activities (social media, gaming) make normal activities feel unrewarding. The antidote: reduce overstimulation, reset your baseline.

Atomic Habit

A tiny change that compounds over time. 1% better every day leads to 37x improvement in a year. Small habits are the foundation of remarkable results.

Implementation Intention

A plan that specifies when, where, and how you'll act. "I will [behavior] at [time] in [location]." This format increases follow-through by 91%.

Habit Stacking

Linking a new habit to an existing one. "After I [current habit], I will [new habit]." Uses existing neural pathways to build new behaviors faster.

Recovery

Getting back on track after missing a habit. Never miss twice. One slip is a mistake, two is the start of a new pattern. Plan for recovery, not perfection.
